MyHomeGame hosts private online card rooms for home-game clubs. This policy covers this website, the beta sign-up form on it, and the MyHomeGame app your club plays on. It’s short because we collect only what the games need.
Who’s responsible for what
Each club is run by its organizer, who decides who joins and can see the activity of the club’s members. MyHomeGame provides and hosts the service. For any privacy question or request, write to us at support@myhomegame.net, and we’ll work with your club where needed.
What we collect
When you request beta access, we keep:
- your email address;
- your name and the note about your game, if you choose to give them;
- a scrambled, one-way code made from your internet address, used only to spot abusive sign-ups. We never store the address itself.
When you have an account, we keep:
- your username, email address and password (stored scrambled, so not even we can read it);
- your name, picture and other profile details, if you add them;
- your settings, such as sounds, card colors and table look;
- if you sign in with Google, the email address and name Google shares with us (never your Google password).
When you play, we keep:
- your game records: the hands you played, your actions and results, chip counts and tournament entries;
- the messages you send in table and lobby chat;
- feedback you send us;
- private notes you write about other players. Only you can see them, just as only their writers can see notes about you.
And a few technical details:
- the internet address of your latest sign-in, and the rough city and country it points to. We work this out on our own servers without sending your address anywhere. It helps you and your club spot sign-ins that aren’t yours;
- a record of sign-ins and security events, such as failed password attempts;
- if you turn on phone or browser notifications, the code your device gives us to deliver them.
What we do with it
We use your information only to run the games, keep your account secure, send you the emails your account needs (such as email confirmation and password resets) and answer you when you contact us. A copy of each beta sign-up is emailed to our team inbox so we can reply to you.
We don’t sell your information, show you ads, or share it with advertisers.
Who else handles it
A few services help us run MyHomeGame. Each one sees only what it needs to do its job:
- Amazon Web Services hosts the app and this website, stores backups and sends our emails.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Apple, Google and Mozilla’s notification services deliver phone and browser notifications, only if you turn them on.
- Sentry.io receives error reports when something breaks, with sign-in details and passwords removed first.
We’d share information beyond this only if the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to protect your account. Some display settings are saved in your browser so the app remembers them. Neither this website nor the app uses advertising cookies, analytics or tracking scripts.
How long we keep it
We keep your account for as long as it’s open. If you ask us to delete it, we remove your name, email address, picture and profile. Your past hands, results and chat stay under an anonymous label, because they’re part of other players’ hand histories and your club’s records, which would stop adding up without them.
Beta sign-ups are kept until we’ve contacted you about the beta, or until you ask us to remove yours.
Your choices
You can view and change your profile and settings in the app at any time. To get a copy of your information, or to have your account or beta sign-up deleted, email support@myhomegame.net.
Age
MyHomeGame is for adults 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, tell us and we’ll remove it.
Security
Connections to MyHomeGame are encrypted, passwords are stored scrambled, and only a small number of people can reach our servers. No service is perfectly secure, but we take care with what you trust us with.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email.
