Questions and answers

Getting started

What is MyHomeGame?

A private online poker room for your home game. You set up a club, invite your players, and run cash games and tournaments in the browser, with your own stakes and house rules.

How much does it cost?

It’s free during the beta. When the beta ends, the club pays for its account, priced by how many players can be online at once. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before any price applies to your club.

How do I sign up?

Request beta access on the home page, and we’ll get back to you the same day. We’re bringing in new home games in small batches, and we’ll email you when there’s room for yours.

Do my players need to download anything?

No. MyHomeGame runs in a web browser on a phone or a computer. Players open your club’s address and sit down to play.

How do my players join?

You send each player an invite code and your club’s address, and they sign up with it. A code can be limited to one email address, to a set number of uses, or to a number of days. You can also create a player’s account yourself.

How do I log in to my club?

Your club admin will send you your club’s address. It looks like yourclub.myhomegame.net, with your club’s own name at the start. Open it in a browser to reach your club’s sign-in page.

The first time, you create your account there. If your admin gave you an invite code, enter it when you sign up; if they set up your account for you, use the details they sent. After that, sign in at the same address.

Money and the law

Is this real-money poker?

MyHomeGame never holds, moves or pays out anyone’s money. The chip counts in the app are a record your club keeps. If your game plays for money, you settle up among yourselves, outside the app, the same way you do now.

Is it legal to play?

The law on private card games differs from place to place. You and your club are responsible for making sure your games, and anything you play for, are legal where your members live. We can’t give legal advice.

How old do players have to be?

18 or older.

The games

Which poker games can we play?

Thirty-one, from Hold’em and Omaha to Stud, Razz, Draw, Badugi, Dramaha and SOHE, plus mixed games such as HORSE, Dealer’s Choice or your own rotation. Each game plays no-limit, pot-limit or fixed-limit. See every game.

How many players can sit at a table?

A table seats 2, 6, 7, 8 or 9. Some games seat fewer because the deck runs out: Stud, for example.

Can we run tournaments?

Yes. Set your own blind levels, breaks and payouts, with rebuys, add-ons and bounties, including progressive knockouts. Track a season with a points leaderboard, and save a tournament as a template to repeat it every week. You can make a friend a Tournament Director to run tournaments without full admin access.

What if we’re short of players?

At a play-money table, bots can fill the empty seats, and each gives up its seat when a person wants it. Bots are also handy for a new player who wants to practice before the real game.

What happens if someone’s connection drops?

Their seat, chips and cards are held for a short grace period (60 seconds unless your club changes it), and the table sees them marked “Disconnected.” If they don’t come back in time, they’re checked or folded when it’s their turn. At a cash table they’re then sat out; in a tournament they stay dealt in until they return.

Your club

Can anyone else see or join our game?

No. Only the players you invite can see your club.

Can we talk to each other while we play?

Yes. There’s chat at each table and in the club lobby. If your group likes to see each other, you can put your video chat link in the lobby.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. On a phone you get a layout made for holding it upright, not a desktop table shrunk to fit. On a computer you get the full felt view, and you can play more than one table at once. Why we built it that way.

Which languages does it support?

English, Spanish and French.

Are there ads? Do you track us?

No ads, ever. Neither the site nor the app uses advertising cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Cookies are used only to keep you signed in and to protect your account. Our privacy policy.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Write to support@myhomegame.net. Your name, email address and profile are removed. Your past hands stay under an anonymous label, because they’re part of other players’ hand histories.
